Wyll and Tara are both struggling to survive in a post apocalyptic world. While other people have gotten jobs for foodstamps, they have turned to mercenary work. One of these days, they're led to a job to escort a young girl back to her family. As they bicker over who should take the job, their mutual fixer suggests they do the job together and split the reward. Begrudgingly, and with some convincing, they finally agree.
They meet the young girl, Yenna, a shy one, and travel across New America back to her family. As they travel, they unravel more about Yenna's so-called family - which turns out to be the Gate of Bright Light. A cult that worships the virus and sees immune people as 'chosen ones', which is what Yenna just so happens to be.
While Tara seems to think of it as just another job, Wyll has grown attached to the little girl and convinces Tara they should bring her somewhere safe. Months pass, and the cult catches wind of this and the three of them flee, from city to city, until they can't run anymore and must fight the cult.
At The Edge Of The Abyss
Euryalex
At The Edge Of The Abyss started out as a silly alternative Baldur's Gate 3 universe, that soon took a life of its own.
Wyll.
- determined
- loving
- caring
Wyll Ravengard is a young man with young features. He has warm brown eyes and brown skin. His hair is a warm black color and tied into a dread ponytail. He is known to be selfless and won't hesitate to help someone in need.
When his fixer, Mizora, tells him about a job to escort a little girl back to her family, he jumps at the chance, only to find out she gave the job to someone else as well. While the pair fight, Mizora suggests they take the job together and split the reward.
Tara.
- stubborn
- selfish
- caring
Tamara 'Tara' Lunarsong is a young woman in her mid 20s. She has dark brown eyes that almost seem pitch black and pale skin. Her curly hair is a cold black color and tied into a ponytail when she's on missions. She's notoriously selfish.
When her original fixer out of the city dies, she's forced to find a new fixer and ends up working with Mizora. She tells her about a job to escort a little girl, but adds that she gave it to another of her clients first. Tara tries to convince her to give it to her instead, and even argues with Wyll for the job. Mizora eventually suggests they do the job together and while Tara needs to be convinced, she agrees in the end.
Yenna.
- naïve
- quick learner
- family person
Yenna is a young girl, around twelve years old. She has bright ginger hair and heterochromia. One eye is a bright blue and the other a colorful green. She has tan skin and is a bit naïve to the world, having grown up in a cult.
Her mother fled the cult with her when she was young, hoping to escape a horrible fate. The cult catches wind of her location, however, and contacts Mizora to find someone to escort her back to them. She remains in Mizora's custody after her mother dies until Mizora finds someone to escort her. Eventually, she travels with Wyll and Tara across the country, slowly revealing the truth about the 'family' they're escorting her to.
